Ida has been working in the field of paediatric sensory integration since qualifying in 1998 as an Occupational Therapist. To her, sensory integration is the most powerful and addictive tool to achieve emotional and social wellbeing. Owning a thriving private practice for almost 15 years has embedded a daily sense of awe for Ida regarding powerful bottom-up sensory strategies in both the individual and group setting.

She completed a M.Phil in Industrial Psychology in 2005 and has always been interested in working in adult mental health and corporate wellness. Overwhelmed and stressed parents as well as adolescent siblings of children seen in her practice are often on the verge of burn-out and have benefitted from sensory assessment and sensory self-management.

Her own bottom-up strategies include napping, training, spicy foods, her well-worn tracksuit with a hot water bottle, as well as vigilantly guarding her need for silence at the end of a long day.

Ida believes that we all need the empowering wisdom of understanding our unique sensory assessment.

“If anything makes me tick, it is to establish meaningful relationships and equipping people to self-regulate and function at full throttle; and having fun while they’re at it.”

Speciality: Workplace design

Contact: +61458615634

Wesite Facebook: Linkedin

Special Focus Areas: Sensory processing, Adult assessment and consulting, Work space design

Agathe Lazaro has worked for 30 years in the design industry, creating extraordinary retail environments, private interiors, fashion and home collections in France, India and Australia. Agathe’s unique creative intelligence and rejection of “style recipes” has led her to collaborate with design leaders, including Rajeev Sethi, Francis Wacgziarg, Aman Resorts, Sir Terence Conran, Agnès Comar, Tsé & Tsé associées and Alan Bilzerian. She is also the creator of La Maison Rose in Pondicherry, India, which has cult status as a retail concept store and has been featured in The World of Interiors.

In 2023, Agathe established a design practice based on Sensory Intelligence® Consulting in Australia. Collaborating with architects, interior designers, businesses, event producers and private clients, her design service takes a human-centred, sensory approach to designing and realising environments of enhanced beauty and style that promote productivity, respect, psychological safety, and evidence-based design strategies for deep well-being.

During the COVID-19 lockdowns, Agathe’s passion for a deeper understanding of how humans interact and experience the spaces around them led her to study with pioneers in intuitive intelligence, nervous system polyvagal theory, biophilic principles and sensory design. She has weaved together her unique interior design experience with advanced qualifications in sensory processing to create a new kind of design practice.

Through diagnostics and sensory maps, using Sensory Intelligence® Consulting, Agathe works with architects, interior designers and other creatives to support strategic decisions around colour, materials, soft furnishings and all aspects of the architectural/Interior experience and ergonomics. Her designs truly connect to the senses and fulfil the intention and purpose of the space. “I am driven by the desire to create the experience of beauty with our unique biology as its revolving centre.”

Early projects include re/designing home workspaces and virtual meeting/mise-en-scène backdrops and assisting clients with creative briefs for architects and interior designers. After her sensory diagnostics, clients find it much easier to consolidate decisions and complete project briefs, avoiding issues, delays and costs further down the building/design process. With each commission, Agathe’s goal is to bring a human-centred approach to all architecture and design: “so the environments we create to support our nervous system, ultimately creating spaces that heal, nurture, inspire happiness and expand our selves.

Special Focus Areas: Sensory processing, Adult assessment and consulting, Family group assessment and consulting, Adolescent assessment and consulting, Health and wellbeing, Stress management, Neurodiversity, Group therapy – adolescents and adults

Born from her own journey with sensory and mental health challenges, Joenita started an Occupational Therapy practice that focuses on individual and group therapy for adolescents and adults who experience sensory difficulties.

Her practice logo is a hydrangea hot air balloon. The hot air balloon in her logo symbolises her vision perfectly. The hot air balloon represents: A journey. The hard work and preparation that goes into getting the balloon off the ground. The freedom of being airborne, but also the responsibility that comes with that freedom and the continued effort required to stay airborne. In flight, there is a degree of unpredictability that you need to be comfortable with. The hydrangeas represent: Abundance. Care (for yourself). Understanding (yourself and others). Growth (which is sometimes painful). Gratitude (your journey is shaping you into the person you are/need to be). Deep understanding.

“I believe we are all on a journey, sometimes we just need a bit of help to get off the ground and to soar.”
